Get Out of the Dungeon and Soar! Join IMC in June!

The June 2nd IMC NorCal Chapter meeting was so full of positive energy, it was hard to tell that we're living through a recession. Georgia Chapter Certified Management Consultant Jim Rodgers gave us a map to help us get out of our dungeons and move our consulting practices forward.

Everyone left with ideas for taking action, new friends, and a renewed sense of optimism as this year's economic climate presents copious opportunities, should be make the time to look for them.

Our new chapter Program Director Bart Gragg did his first official duty by introducing Jim to the audience of about 60 IMC members and guests from all around Northern California.

Guests signed up for IMC membership, and several former members are coming back into the association. As our outgoing President Brett LaDove says, "Together we are better."

The Chapter has decided to extend its special offer: Join IMC USA by June 30 and earn a $125 discount. Your investment will only be $175 instead of the professional membership fee of $295. Log on to IMCUSA and use the promo code “norcal0609” to receive the discount!

Then start attending your local Area Breakfast for Consultants Group in Monterey Bay, Mid-Peninsula (Palo Alto), San Francisco, East Bay, Sacramento or Reno, where you will find a great personal advisory board that supports you and your practice to thrive, not just survive!

A phenomenon that fellow IMC NorCal Area Breakfast for Consultant (ABC) leaders have noted is that during challenging times, more consultants come out of their dungeons. When business is good, some lose touch with their peers and stop attending breakfast meetings. When business is tough or even bad, they show up in droves.

What is it about the consultant brain that thinks it should only drink at the well when they are thirsty?

I've noticed that consultants who regularly attend and contribute get the most value from being a member of the chapter and their local ABC. They grow in professionalism, practice knowledge, relationships, leadership and potential business.

I confess that I enjoy hanging out in my dungeon too, and I really value the energy, synergy, learning and growing together that happens at our East Bay Consultants Forum ABC.

Coming out of the dungeon once a month isn't half bad!

When I wake up the first thing I ask is "Where's my coffee?" and then my mind automatically goes to God, Marketing, Writing, Giving, Dungeon as a checklist.

What a great meeting. Such great energy; and so much talent in one room!
