Barbara's IMC NorCal and Other Activities

I am a 13-year member of IMC USA and the NorCal chapter. Since 2007 I've hosted the East Bay Consultants Forum ABC with Norma Martinez-Rubin MPH MBA. Our group acts as a "Personal Advisory Board" to one another, discussing timely topics, sharing resources, support and referrals, and continuing our professional development. We

* imbue values of sharing, sustainability and service
* align missions of the ABCs, NorCal chapter, and IMC USA
* promote excellence and ethics in consulting through the IMC USA Code of Ethics
* strengthen consultants' practices through collegial exchange
* increase visibility for IMC consultants
* increase visibility for CMCs (Certified Management Consultants®)
* stimulate collaboration
* inspire and celebrate contributions from every ABC member
* develop IMC leaders

All consultants are welcome to join us on the 3rd Friday of every month except August, at 7:15 a.m., Buttercup Grill, 1000 Cotton St., Oakland, California. Watch the Events section on this NCCN to see the month's topic and registration link.

As the ABC Board Liaison at IMC NorCal, I'm excited about new tools we can offer new and existing ABCs. Stay tuned for more news on that front.

I look forward to hearing your ideas and questions. Contact me via the NorCalConsultants Network or call 510-233-0580.

Announcing: High 5 on December 5 - Appreciation Day

We consultants spend a lot of time advising our clients on the importance of effective communication. We exhort them to recognize their employees, strategic partners and patrons.

Yet, how often do we pause to acknowledge and appreciate one another? When was the last time you told a fellow consultant that something they did or said made a difference to you? What did you do or say to let them know how much you value and appreciate them? Have you ever thanked them for the work they did on behalf o… Continue
