Nice suggestion Ahmet. You may be interested in the Visibility Initiative I have started with our East Bay Consultants Forum ABC. I invited IMC members to serve on the steering committee with me. We are preparing to launch an online and face-time presence to be the go-to-resource for businesses and organizations in three East Bay counties. It will, of course, include writings and other intellectual assets relevant to our clients and prospects.

Bart,

I think there is a nugget here...It seems IMC could produce a newsletter targeted at SMEs where in each newsletter a number of our members can contribute short an concise stories/advice. This would ensure "constant" fresh content without major commitment from any one member.

Okay, a short list of what I already do, and beleive me, it can get consuming, is I have a website, two in fact, blogging, LinkedIn where I ask/answer questions, recommend people, and article writing, etc.

As to the blogging, I watch other consultants blogs and if I like their style and information overall and a post they wrote in particular, I actually write a brief post of my own and refer my readers to theirs through trackbacks.

I am also working on developing a series of articles for Constant Contact that highlights not just what I do but has quotes information from other consultants/professionals that are not competitors but can be supporters.

One thing you have to do is be very clear on your target market and not go after 'everyone or anyone'.

In the end though, it is the personal relationships that we develop with each other over time, not overnight, that has helped me move forward.

Caveat - I have lots of opinions - this is my humble one....
